No. The activity is included in the MOC enrollment fee.
It would be if this were an actual performance improvement module. In an actual performance improvement module, the data entered into the PIM is de–identified — meaning no patient specific information, such as name or DOB can be entered into the module. If you choose to, you may securely dispose of the visit form after the data is entered into the PIM, just like any other piece of information that may contain confidential information. The ABP will not ask for copies of the actual visit form and only uses aggregate data to monitor whether the module as a whole has improved care. Physicians can download their own data at any time should they wish, for instance to create a registry. The PIM is not a research project or part of a study, but is a tool to help physicians improve care.
To earn MOC credit for this activity, meet these minimum requirements:
Note: You must complete the Part 2 portion of this activity (the self-assessment) before you will be able to progress to the Part 4 portion of this activity. You have unlimited attempts to pass the self-assessment. You may refer to the QI Guide as often as needed while you take the self-assessment, and you will receive 10 MOC Part 2 points when you successfully complete the self-assessment. From there, you must complete TWO of the FOUR QI topics where simulated (mock) data is provided to receive Part 4 MOC and CME credit. Once you complete your first QI topic, return to the MAIN MENU to select and complete a second QI topic. You will then be credited with 50 MOC Part 4 points and 20 CME credits. You may complete additional Part 4 topics, but no additional CME credit will be awarded.
Access your individual MOC requirements on your personal Web page at www.abp.org.
After completing 3 cycles of two topics, you will receive 50 MOC Part 4 credits automatically. You may optionally complete more topics for MOC credit, but no additional CME credit will be awarded.

Yes. All PIMs expire three years from the date they are introduced. You must also complete two improvement topics within your current MOC cycle in order to receive MOC credit and have it applied towards your Part 4 Performance in Practice requirement.
No. The important date is when the PIM was completed. The PIM must be completed before the end of your MOC cycle. The module may be started at any time but you should check the specific requirements and cycle dates that apply to you at your personal ABP portfolio page.
All Data for this PIM is being provided. Actual PIMs - where patient visits are required - No. You do not have to wait until you have all patient data before creating a baseline or improvement Cycle.
A run chart is a graph that displays observed data over a period of time. Therefore, after entering baseline data, only one point will be displayed on the chart as a dot. This point is a measure displaying how far you are from the measure goal (if there is one) and where to focus your improvement efforts to reach the goal. After your first Improvement Cycle data is entered, you will see a trend line displayed on the graph, connecting the two points. The chart will continue to display trends over time and your progress towards improvement as you enter your next Improvement Cycle of data.
All Data for this PIM is provided. Actual PIMs - where patient visits are required - will provide forms to download and should be completed at the conclusion of the patient visit. This is not required for this virtual learning activity.
No. At this time, the patient visit (encounter) forms are only available in English. If you are a physician serving a patient population using a language other than English, you may have your patient visit (encounter) forms translated, however, this is not a service the ABP provides.
